No shortcuts, no substitutes, no outsourcing. We stand behind every wheelset 100%. Each and every pair of Makers is hand built in-house in Lyall Bay, Wellington by the small and skilled Wheelworks team.
Your Maker wheelset will arrive true to less than one-tenth of a millimeter (about the thickness of a human hair or a sheet of paper). Thanks to our professionally skilled wheelbuilders, stringent internal processes, and quality control means they’ll stay that way for a long, long time.

Spoke Tension
We check the spoke tension throughout the wheelbuilding process with custom-modified DT Swiss Tensio meters. But just to make absolutely sure, we regularly test the tension meters on custom-designed and custom-built jigs.

We give a lifetime guarantee with all Maker wheels against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship. Unfortunately, this does not mean your lifetime, but the wheelset’s. “How long should a wheelset last for?” is not easy to answer and subject to all sorts of variables, but we expect the Maker to stay true and never break a spoke over at least 50,000 kilometers until the wheelset is worn-out.
This warranty does not cover damage caused by accident, improper care, negligence, normal wear and tear, or the natural breakdown of colors and materials over extended time and use.
Not much fine print, right?. We’ve designed this wheelset to be used in real-world situations, we know it’s up to the task, and if something strange happens we’ll look after you. It’s that simple.
